Our approach to Families
There is a great book we have read countless times to our girls called The Family Book which describes how families can come in different shapes and sizes, but are always full of love. This truly resonates with us. No matter if your family is just at the beginnings and you’ve asked your partner’s hand in marriage, if your family is small or tall, if your family is blended or recently mended, at the core of it all is love. It is a joy to photograph each unique family exactly how they are that day. Some of our families we have been watching grow over the years and it is amazing to reconnect time and time again. Let us stop time for your family with a session together.
What does a family session feel like?
We work hard to create a polished look from what is often an unpolished moment in time. Sometimes it has casual poses and sometimes its moments caught off-guard. Either way, it is always a joy to set a scene, put the players into place, and see how you all come together. We host a judgement free zone, so everyone is allowed to be who they are in the time we have. Sometimes we will create a few scenes, depending on the endurance of the players and the locations at our disposal. What’s important is setting proper expectations and understanding that anything can happen while we are together. So, be prepared for what unfolds. Surrender to the flow and enjoy each other’s company. Those interactions become the highlights of our sessions for us, and hopefully for you, too. Single or young families start at $250 for the session. Larger families, often including grandparents, begin at $350 with additional session fees for expanded families.
