Vermont is Open for Weddings

Some big news came from Vermont’s Governor Phil Scott yesterday. Because 80% of Vermonters are now fully vaccinated, he has declared that all restrictions are being lifted and we may resume normal life as we know it (cautiously). This is great news for those who wish to feel comfortable without masks, and even greater news for those who want to celebrate in large groups. We are so proud of our fellow Vermonters for staying safe and making good decisions to get us to this point!

Our Season Kicks Off

When a couple really works together, they tend to bring out the best in others. The wedding of Morgan and Nicolas shows just that. As our first official wedding of the 2021 summer season, and the first one since we’ve seen the COVID curve dropping off, this was a great opportunity to witness loved ones comfortably coming together again to visit, share, and enjoy each others’ company. The love expressed at this event was palpable.

Set in Danville, Vermont with the picturesque scene of the White Mountains in the distance, Morgan and Nick couldn’t have asked for nicer weather. The First Congregational Church of Danville was bright and airy for the ceremony, as the small group gathered together humbly. Churches, while typically beautiful spaces, can be quite difficult to light, as many times, they can be somewhat dark. Stained glass, while quite stunning, prevents a lot of light from pouring into the indoor space, so it takes a lot of light to see faces and expressions the way they really should be lit. This venue was bright and we loved being able to throw light around without being too obvious and taking away from the bride and groom’s special moment. Shooting in this space was a delight.

Comfortable Connections

With a lovely breeze symbolic of change on the horizon, family and friends mingled outside at the conclusion of the ceremony comfortably, blowing bubbles into the wind toward the newlywed couple. Family portraits were captured between bursts of laughter, and it became time to head to Goodfellas for dinner. On the way, we stopped at a nearby field to capture the Bride and Groom with the impressive White Mountains in the background. Vermont offers some gorgeous views of the Whites, and Danville, might just have a leg up due to its higher elevation. And that breeze! Oh, Vermont, you do not disappoint.

The Escape

We took a few moments after dinner to capture the wedding party outside one last time. They looked so good, we couldn’t resist. Morgan and Nick picked some great colors, which looked lovely beneath the canopy of some mature pine trees. This is always a good opportunity for the wedding party to escape, joke around, and spend a moment reflecting on the preceding events. It’s rare that we don’t see the bride breathing a quiet sigh of relief at this point.
